The program cultivates highly specialized professionals who conduct research and development in advanced information technologies and energy and environmental technologies that support modern society, based on mathematical sciences, materials science, and information engineering, while considering social implementation and social impact, and who contribute to solving social issues.


Master's Program


Human Resources to be Developed

The program cultivates highly specialized professionals and research support personnel who conduct specialized research and development in one of the fields related to advanced information technologies and energy and environmental materials in private companies, universities, and national research institutions, who are able to understand and utilize the latest academic knowledge, and who can engage in the design and construction of social systems and the implementation of technologies in society.

<Career Paths after Completion>
Manufacturing industries, financial institutions, trading companies, media organizations, research institutions, think tanks, government agencies, international organizations, etc.

Degrees to be Conferred

Master of Science and Technology

●Diploma Policy

The degree of Master of Science and Technology is awarded to those who have fulfilled the requirements for completion of the master's program as stipulated in the Graduate School Regulations of the University of Tsukuba and related regulations, and who are recognized as having acquired the following competences.

Knowledge application competence: Ability to apply advanced knowledge to society

Management competence: Ability to address issues appropriately from a broad perspective
Competence 3
Communication competence: Ability to clearly and accurately communicate specialized knowledge

We seek candidates who possess fundamental and specialized knowledge in a specific field related to technological development such as advanced information technologies or energy and environmental materials, along with the ability to conduct research under the supervision of faculty members, and who show an interest in social applications and related societal systems, as well as a strong motivation to contribute to the sustainable development of society.
